A pigeon has crashed into a window, creating an artistic grease imprint.

The bird flew into Stuart Milligan's kitchen window in Dunblane, Stirling and left an imprint showing its head, torso and wingspan.

Mr Milligan, impressed by the image, decided to have his photo taken next to it.

The imprint is said to have been caused by a protective 'powder down' substance that helps to preserve the pigeon's feathers.

Birds often find it difficult to differentiate between clear pathways and windows, so frequently have collisions such as these ones.
