Matt Curran in the Gold Coast, Australia took Lilo to a grooming salon where animal-safe products were used.
The 22-year-old said he did it for his niece's birthday, who turned 4. She was delighted with the makeover, saying Lilo resembled Winnie the Pooh character Tigger.
The dye job took 90 minutes to apply and lasts six months.
