Sequential is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the legendary Gilbert Shelton with a free release.
The 100-page digital The Sequential Guide to Gilbert Shelton's Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers will be on offer on Panel Nine's iPad comics app until the end of June.
It collects the satirical counterculture classic created by the mainstay of the underground comix scene of the '60s and '70s.
It includes the complete Underground Classics #1 - Gilbert Shelton's visual history of the Freak Brothers - and a selection of rare comic strips, illustrations and photographs.
The characters debuted in a 1968 issue of The Rag, which was followed by the spinoff strip Fat Freddy's Cat in 1969.
Shelton will celebrate his 75th birthday on May 31.
