Arjun Kapoor has said that he is "proud" to be the brand ambassador for Earth Hour 2015.
Partnering with WWF India, the actor will front a national campaign to raise awareness on climate change issues.
"Earth Hour was initiated by WWF to fight the acute threat that climate change poses," stated Kapoor. "The campaign is truly a vehicle of change and has grown to garner the support of millions across the globe.
"Being a part of the same global community, I feel extremely proud to be associated with the movement and would encourage others to do the same."
Kapoor added that he hopes individuals across India would come forward and be part of the movement.
As well as asking people to switch off electricity for one hour, the annual Earth Hour encourages people to adopt a cleaner and more sustainable lifestyle by embracing renewable energy solutions.
Earth Hour is now in its seventh year.
