Shah Rukh Khan has said that Fan director Maneesh Sharma does not want him to act in a Shah Rukh Khan manner.
The Bollywood star stated that Sharma is pushing to get something new out of his lead actor's performance style.
Khan told PTI: "It is interesting as everybody who is working on Fan has seen all my films.
"They are my biggest fans but whenever I try to act like myself they will go 'No, no, you have done this before. Please change it and try to do it like this.'"
The 49-year-old went on to add that the filmmaker had been planning to make a movie with Khan for a decade.
"Maneesh used to say that I am going to make this one film with you, then I can retire," stated SRK.
The director had previously worked as an assistant on Khan's 2008 release Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
