Sonam Kapoor has been admitted to hospital in Gujarat after contracting swine flu.

The actress is reported to be staying in an isolation ward in the city of Gondal after falling ill while shooting on Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

"Sonam Kapoor tested positive for swine flu today and she is being treated at Sterling hospital in the city," government official Manisha Chandra told India Today.

The actor is said to have been exposed to the H1N1 virus in Mumbai, but only started displaying symptoms after arriving in Gondal.

Kapoor had complained of respiratory problems, a cough and mild fever.

The 29-year-old features opposite Salman Khan in the movie which is expected to release in November.
