Varun Dhawan has said that a fire on the set of his new movie ABCD 2 resulted in the evacuation of 600 crew members and dancers.

The actor was shooting the sequel to the 2013 hit at Film City in Mumbai when the blaze started.

"There was a fire and our set got burnt down. We safely evacuated 600 people and we will be back to work tomorrow. We won't stop dancing," shared the actor.

Dhawan had been filming a competitive dance scene with co-star Shraddha Kapoor, other principal actors and background artists at the Mumbai studio.

Night shoot filming is currently taking place at the same location but in a studio adjacent to the damaged set.

Shooting on the Remo D'Souza-directed project had earlier taken place in Las Vegas.

Dhawan recently said that he was unable to enjoy the success of his current release Badlapur, due to work commitments on the upcoming dance movie.
