"Fringe was picked up!!!! Thanks Fringedom!" he wrote.
Earlier this week, Wyman had promised to break news of any recommission on Twitter when dismissing rumours that the show had been cancelled.
Speculation had been rife about the future of Fringe since it was moved from Thursday night to Friday night to accommodate the new series of American Idol.
A fall in ratings had also fuelled rumours that the show would be cancelled.
However, the show's star John Noble recently told DS that he was optimistic about the chances of a fourth season, saying: "The fans do want it, and the interesting thing about Fringe is that I know the executives at Fox and the executives at Warner Bros really love Fringe, they're very proud of it."
Jeff Pinkner recently revealed that showrunners had pitched a seven-year plan for Fringe to Fox.
