It's reduced from £179.99 to £149 - a great option if you are looking to recreate that char-grilled flavour indoors and all year round. When does Amazon Prime take place in 2026?
Amazon usually runs at least one major shopping event per season. Its main Prime Day event is taking place from 23 June until 26 June this year. And of course, it gets involved in Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Boxing Day, too.
Prime Day is Amazon's big birthday event, focused on top deals for its members. The site was officially founded on 5 July 1994, and as such, Prime Day usually takes place around that time of the year.
The first sales event with Prime Day branding took place on 15 July 2015, in nine countries, and its global reach has only expanded over time.
How to sign up for Amazon Prime membership
Prime Day offers are usually exclusive to Amazon Prime members.
Customers who have never had an Amazon Prime membership can take advantage of Amazon's 30-day free trial offer. After the free trial finishes, Amazon Prime membership is usually £8.99/month, or £95/year.
Some shoppers who haven't had a Prime membership or a free trial in 12 months or more may be eligible for another complimentary 30-day trial.
If you're a student, or aged between 18 and 22 years old, you can get an Amazon Prime Student membership at a preferential rate of £4.49/month or £47.49/year.
You'll need to use your .ac.uk email address, or provide proof of either enrolment at a university or your age, to sign up at this lower price. New Prime Student members can also claim a six-month free trial.
Amazon Prime member benefits
Amazon Prime is more than just the Prime Video streaming service, which is one of many benefits available to customers who take up a full Prime membership. (Note that subscribers will need to pay an additional £2.99 per person per month to watch Prime Video content without ads.)
Not only will you get exclusive Prime member discounts, but you'll also get early access to certain deals, unlimited one-day delivery and even same-day delivery.
To add to that, there's the Prime Video library with original TV series like Last One Laughing, movies such as Another Simple Favour, Prime Reading – with around 3,000 books, magazines and audiobooks – and Prime Gaming, which includes a rotating selection of free games and a monthly Twitch subscription.
The perks of a full Prime membership also include discounts that vary by country (in the UK, these range from a one-year complimentary membership of Deliveroo Plus Silver to cheap Odeon cinema tickets).
What deals can shoppers expect on Prime Day?
With Amazon Prime scheduled for next week, we can take some educated guesses based on what we've seen included in the past.
There are usually discounts across tech, gaming, homeware, beauty, fashion and household essentials (including pet supplies).
Ninja air fryer deals, electric toothbrush deals and cheap laptop deals have all been included in the past, along with occasional Apple device deals and Samsung device deals.
Inevitably, there will also be huge price drops on Amazon's own-brand kit, such as Fire tablets, Amazon Echo devices and Fire TV sticks.
We'd advise waiting for a major shopping event from Amazon if you're looking to invest in some of its own-brand tech, as events like Prime Day and Black Friday usually see the biggest price drops.
