Coronation Street builder Jason Grimshaw will publicly accuse Karl Munro of starting the Rovers Return fire next month.
Jason (Ryan Thomas) reveals his suspicions to everyone at the pub, in a desperate bid to convince his ex-lover Stella Price (Michelle Collins) that she shouldn't marry Karl.
When Jason and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) finally realise that Karl snuck out of the Bistro's Full Monty night to start the blaze in March, they face a frantic bid to stop Stella from making a terrible mistake.
John Michie, who plays Karl, told All About Soap: "Karl just hates Jason with a passion, and equally Jason despises Karl too. I think Karl is more wound up by Jason than threatened by him. Jason knows exactly how to push Karl's buttons, especially where Stella is involved."
On Jason's accusation, the actor continued: "[Karl is] nervous, but at the same time, he believes people will just think Jason's being an idiot and is out to get Karl. It does wind him up, but he's very good at covering that."
Although Karl tries to appear as calm as possible, he makes plans to take Stella on honeymoon to Spain and never come back, realising that his days are numbered if he stays in Weatherfield after the wedding.

Michie added: "He borrows a bit of money from his friend and books two cheap flights to Spain for their honeymoon. Stella might think that he's got them a nice hotel, but sadly he hasn't. Karl's only concern at that moment is getting them the hell out of Weatherfield very quickly!"
Coronation Street airs these scenes - which build up to Karl's dramatic exit - on Monday, September 9 on ITV.
