Emmerdale fans will see David and Tracy Metcalfe's marriage issues go from bad to worse next week.
The couple were rocked recently when Tracy was forced to reveal her traumatic past as a prostitute, due to her past client Phil trying to blackmail her.
Although David has since promised to be more supportive of Tracy, he lets her down all over again next week when Phil goes on trial.
As Tracy has reported Phil for his blackmail and other women have come forward too, he's finally facing the consequences of his actions – but this only causes more trouble between the Metcalfes.
When Phil's horrible behaviour makes the front page of the local newspaper, David is mortified and worries about what people might think.
Things only get worse when David invites Dr Cavanagh over for dinner, having heard that the GP is on the judging panel for a retail award he's hoping to win.
What to Read Next
During the meal, Tracy finds out that David has binned the newspapers and loses patience over his obvious lack of support, taking the opportunity to humiliate him in front of Dr Cavanagh. Will this push David too far?
Amy Walsh and Matthew Wolfenden, who play Tracy and David, caught up with Digital Spy and other media at a recent Emmerdale press day and gave us a few more teasers on what to expect.
Amy revealed: "Tracy speaking out about Phil has made other people speak up about him, so he's on trial for blackmail. It's turned into a positive for Tracy. She's quite proud of herself and Phil has got all the shame on him.
"Tracy's like: 'How can you not be proud of me for helping other people?' But it's all to do with David's ego and his business, because he wants to win this award. That's when Dr Cavanagh comes for a meal at the shop."
Matthew continued: "When David gets a delivery of these newspapers, he bins them all because he doesn't want anyone in the village reading about it.
"Then Dr Cavanagh, his wife and his daughter come for a meal. Tracy gets a little bit drunk, goes outside and finds the papers in the bin. She comes back in and says in front of everyone: 'Oh, has David told you I used to be a prostitute?'
"The doctor gets up with his wife, who's a teacher and very prim and proper, and they say: 'I think we better leave now'. That's another point where David tells Tracy: 'Do you know what, I'm done with you'."
