Kanye West promises he'll run for president in 2020, so it's about time for him to make some policy pronouncements, right?

The rapper shared his thoughts on the failure of the US education system through a series of tweets earlier today (February 16).

"I have a friend who works really hard and makes $370 dollars a day. Her son just got in a really good school and his textbooks are like $400 dollars each," he tweeted.

"I mean, his mom has to work 2 days just to afford 1 book for her son. She's giving everything she has to make sure her son has a better future.

"Steve Jobs wanted to lower the cost of textbooks. Education puts Americans into debt before they even get a chance to get started.

"We have to lower the price of textbooks. I'd rather teachers got paid more and books cost less … #2020."

What to Read Next

We're currently in the dog days of the 2016 presidential race, but Kanye has already staked out his place for the NEXT race for the White House.

He's received the backing of Republican candidate Donald Trump, which might actually be a negative for a lot of voters.

But Yeezy also seemed to have Taylor Swift locked in as his 2020 running mate. Something tells us he'll probably need to look elsewhere.
