Schumer, who recently hosted the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, recreated a Wayne's World 'We're Not Worthy' moment as she bowed down before the couple at the star-studded TIME 100 gala on Tuesday night (April 21).

Kanye had an apparent look of complete disdain on his face as he continued to walk past Schumer, who crawled along the carpet beside him.

At least Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox, laughing in the background, appreciated it.

Schumer later explained her stunt to TIME, saying: "I saw [Kim and Kanye] and said to my publicist, 'Can I pretend to fall?' and she said, 'I can't stop you'."

The comedian added that she is a huge Kanye fan, naming 'Blood on the Leaves' as one of her favourite songs of the last five years.

The TIME gala honoured stars who were named in the publication's prestigious annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Other celebrity guests being celebrated at the event included Emma Watson, Bradley Cooper and director Christopher Nolan.

Kanye also performed a 20-minute set at the gala which included new single 'All Day', and three tracks from 2013's Yeezus including 'Black Skinhead', 'New Slaves' and 'Blood on the Leaves'.

He was flanked on stage by shirtless dancers covered in chalk.
