Today is a very special day. We're not talking about it being the first day back at school, we're not even talking about it being Beyoncé's birthday, we're talking about One Direction's conception.

Celebrating that fateful day all those years ago, Liam shared a message for his fans, friends and family on Twitter, thanking them for helping him through his 1D journey.

And if that wasn't emotional enough, Liam also referred to his former band mates as "brothers". (Looks like that reunion is almost definitely happening, then.)

"7 years ago today my life changed forever, beyond my wildest dreams, I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way", he wrote.

"To my four band mates and brothers thank you so much along with all of our fans we really are "the greatest team the world has ever seen"."

Bless.

Liam's not the only Directioner who's been looking back on his time in the band fondly – Louis Tomlinson recently admitted that One Direction was "more fun" than going it solo.

"In terms of fun of course it's gonna be more fun when you're in the band and you've got people to share it with," he revealed. "We all got on so well, but we felt kind of impenetrable at that time."

Here's to the next seven years, eh boys?
