It doesn't sound wildly different from some of One Direction's own guitar-led balladry, such 'Story of My Life' and 'Little Things', which we're sure is just fine by the fans.
But what do the other three members of One Direction think of Niall's first solo offering? Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson all turned to Twitter to give their verdict.
However, one person who didn't react to Niall's new song release was former boss Simon Cowell.
That's likely because the X Factor mogul was hoping to sign the Irish singer to his own Syco label and even spoke quite openly about it earlier in the year.
But with the release of his new song 'This Town', Niall also announced that he has signed a deal with rival label Capitol Records. Eek.
The new contract will see Niall release a solo album very soon, with many believing it could be with us before Christmas.
As for 'This Town', it was a massive success upon its release, shooting up to No.1 on iTunes in the US and two in the UK.
Niall has been thanking fans for the overwhelming support all weekend and even treated them to a little fact about his new artwork.
Now fans will be eagerly waiting for more details about Niall's solo endeavours, including that anticipated album release date, as well as a potential headline tour.
