It's not long now until Wonder Woman finally makes her big screen solo debut, but we still know surprisingly little about the plot of Warner Bros' next DC Comics adaptation.
But it looks like one vital piece of information has finally come out – the identity of the movie's villain.
According to French magazine Studio Ciné Live (via Les Toiles Heroiques), Gal Gadot's Princess Diana will be facing off against classic Wonder Woman antagonist Ares, the ancient Greek god of war.
The report claims that he hatches a plot against mankind out of jealousy for the favour his father Zeus, the king of the gods, showed to them. Ares has apparently already killed off Zeus after his dad sided with Wonder Woman's people, the Amazons.
There has already been some speculation that Danny Huston – who is playing an unidentified German commander – is Ares.
If the reports are true that the film will stick to the newer version of Wonder Woman's origin story – in which she is the daughter of Zeus – that will also make Ares her half-brother. Things are starting to sound a bit Thor-esque.

Wonder Woman will be the first major female-led solo superhero movie since Marvel launched the modern craze with 2008's Iron Man.
Director Patty Jenkins's film will star Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui and David Thewlis.
It centres around Diana's departure from the isolated island of the Amazons to fight alongside the Allies in World War I.
Wonder Woman will be released on June 2.
