Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi's dream cameo sounds like it would have been… interesting.

The director was asked on a Reddit AMA which character he would have liked to feature in the upcoming sequel...

However, he unexpectedly answered that the "CRAZY" movie could have seen none other than John C Reilly's Rhomann Dey pop up - the Nova Corps officer from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Yep, really.

If you remember, Rhomann helped save Xandar by convincing the Nova Corps to help the Guardians protect it from Ronan, despite his previous tussles with Star-Lord (Chris Pratt).

While the capacity in which the character would have appeared in Ragnarok remains a mystery, it would not have been unfeasible considering it's part of the shared Marvel universe.

"I don't know actually. I can't comment on it. It may have just been something for the fans," he said.

On the movie's progress, he added: "We are halfway through and it's going really well. Everything is going to plan in that we didn't have a plan to start with.

"It's going better than expected and it's a lot of fun shooting. The style is not too dissimilar to how I would normally work. It's just a longer schedule because it's a bigger film with more special effects and things like that."

Thor: Ragnarok will be in UK cinemas on October 17, 2017.
