Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos' latest cinematic venture has landed its first teaser trailer.
The Favourite stars Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz, Emma Stone and Nicholas Hoult, and features future The Crown star Colman getting another taste of what it's like to play royalty on screen as the film takes us back to 18th century England.
Before becoming Queen Elizabeth II in the Netflix hit, and having already played Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother in 2012 film Hyde Park on Hudson, The Favourite sees Colman play another monarch as she stars as Queen Anne during her reign in the early 18th century.
With England at war with the French and Anne's health failing, the Queen's close friend Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) is governing the country in her stead, but their friendship is tested following the arrival of new servant Abigail (Emma Stone).
Sarah takes Abigail under her wing, but when the politics of war begin to demand more of Sarah's attention, Abigail sees a chance to return to her aristocratic roots and begins to fill in as the Queen's companion and fulfil her ambitions – and she will not let woman, man, politics or rabbit stand in her way.
Lanthimos is best known for his previous films The Lobster and The Killing of a Sacred Deer, which should tell you all you need to know about how quirky we can expect The Favourite to be.

And, judging by the trailer, the results look to be eccentric, dark-humoured and emotionally powerful. We'll take that.
The Favourite will be released in cinemas on November 23, 2018.
