Christian Bale may be used to dramatically losing weight for film roles, but here he has piled on the pounds to play Dick Cheney, 45th Vice President of the United States in the biopic Backseat.
We've seen him in costume already, but here he is on the set of the film, doing business with the Middle East:

Cheney served as Secretary of Defence from 1989 to 1993, and later was Vice President during George W Bush's reign, from 2000 to 2009, playing a major part in the 'war on terror'.
There's a lot of heavy stuff to cover in the film, which is why it might be surprising that Backseat is being directed by Adam McKay, who is most famous for Step Brothers, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and its sequel.
Having said that, McKay directed The Big Short, the 2015 film about the late noughties financial crash, which was critically acclaimed and financially successful. It also starred none other than Christian Bale.

As well as Bale, Backseat also stars Bill Pullman as 46th Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, Steve Carell as former Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Amy Adams as Cheney's wife Lynne.
Production began in September this year, but the film does not have a release date yet.
