Those rumblings of Brad Pitt's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston divorcing her current husband Justin Theroux aren't true.

The rumour took on a life of its own on social media on Wednesday (September 21), when In Touch claimed that Jennifer split from Justin after a massive row while he was shooting The Leftovers in Australia.

However, Jennifer's spokesperson has confirmed to Digital Spy that any allegations of the couple splitting are "just another fabrication".

The timing was certainly suspect, since it was only yesterday that Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Jennifer's first husband Brad Pitt.

Pitt famously took up with his Mrs and Mrs Smith co-star Jolie shortly after his marriage to Aniston very publicly broke down in January 2005.

Responding to Jolie's own stunning divorce filing yesterday, Brad told People: "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."

Jolie's own spokesperson appealed for privacy, saying "Angelina will always do what's in the best interest of taking care of her family.

"She appreciates everyone's understanding of their need for privacy at this time."

Aniston's second marriage to Justin Theroux is only a year old, the couple having tied the knot in a star-studded private ceremony in Bel-Air, California last August.

Over the summer, the former Friends star complained that she was "fed up" with near constant pregnancy rumours in the tabloids.

"I may become a mother some day, and since I'm laying it all out there, if I ever do, I will be the first to let you know," she insisted.

"But I'm not in pursuit of motherhood because I feel incomplete in some way, as our celebrity news culture would lead us all to believe.

"I resent being made to feel 'less than' because my body is changing and/or I had a burger for lunch and was photographed from a weird angle and therefore deemed one of two things: 'pregnant' or 'fat'.

"Not to mention the painful awkwardness that comes with being congratulated by friends, co-workers and strangers alike on one's fictional pregnancy (often a dozen times in a single day)."
