The director recently confirmed the project would feature the popular on-screen pairing.
Speaking to IANS, Kajol said: "Yes, I am doing the film with Rohit Shetty. I am definitely excited to work with Shah Rukh. I'm looking forward to start working on the film."
The two stars have proved to be a successful screen couple, after winning over audiences with their sparkling chemistry in films such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, My Name Is Khan and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
Khan's production house Red Chillies will be producing the eagerly-anticipated film, which also stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.
Taking to Twitter to share his excitement at the movie Dhawan, wrote: "A new journey a new film begins tomorrow the biggest Film Iv ever been part of. #Dilwale"

The film has been described as a rehash of the Ashok Kumar and Kishore Kumar starrer Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, and the Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda film >em>Hum.
