Salman Khan's show Bigg Boss has been criticised by Indian officials for its bad language and violence.

The series has featured a contestant receiving shocks in an electric chair, as well as on-screen romances between housemates.
A ministry worker told Business of Cinema: "There had been concern about the language used by some contestants in a conversation that was aired on the reality show Bigg Boss 7.
"In one of the episodes of the show, a contestant is shown sitting on an electric chair and being given electric shocks.
"t was felt that the content exhibited was not suitable for unrestricted public exhibition and prima facie it is violative of the programming code under the Cable TV Act so the ministry has issued a show cause notice and asked the channel to explain."

Khan, who has hosted the show since 2010, has said that he wants the programme's content to be family-friendly and inoffensive to audiences.
He has previously said that he loves being involved in the programme, which has a "heaven and hell" theme this year.
