Get ready for more MCU blockbusting success, because Ryan Coogler's Black Panther is already breaking records before it has even hit cinemas.

One of 2018's most-anticipated movies, Black Panther isn't released until next month, but Fandango reports that it has smashed the ticket site's record for Marvel movie presales in a film's first 24 hours.

"Black Panther is riding an incredible wave of momentum right now," said Fandango editor Erik Davis. "It's one of the biggest and most anticipated movies to ever open in the month of February, and its trailers have electrified the internet. Tickets have been going fast ever since presales started on Fandango late Monday."

Chadwick Boseman first stuck on a vibranium suit as the Wakandan warrior T'Challa in 2016's Captain America: Civil War (which previously held the Marvel record for presale tickets in the first 24 hours), but is expected to rise up the ranks of MCU popularity after his own solo feature and a major part in Avengers: Infinity War.

Excitement for Black Panther had a spike this week as a new TV spot was released, showing T'Challa fight off a horde of enemies as he confronts baddie Erik Killmonger (Michael B Jordan).

The video also gave us a trippy dream sequence with actual panthers, as well as a preview of Kendrick Lamar's soundtrack, which already sounds pretty awesome going by its lead single.
