Those of you hoping for a kindler, gentler Michael Fassbender android in Alien: Covenant are out of luck.
Ahead of a full-length teaser coming on Friday (March 10), Sir Ridley Scott has blessed (or cursed) us with some brand new footage introducing the Covenant's android helper Walter.
Walter is supposed to be the completely safe upgrade of the murderous robot David from Prometheus, but his brief monologue doesn't inspire any confidence that he's huggable.
"Learn from me. If not by my presets, at least by my example," Walter commands. "How dangerous is the acquirement of knowledge?"
For Walter, we imagine it's actually quite dangerous. Just imagine the sinister plotting and brooding when Walter and his predecessor David actually meet up in Alien: Covenant.
Digital Spy recently spoke with Michael Fassbender about the process of playing not one but two sinister androids in Alien: Covenant, with the actor joking: "I'm getting greedy, aren't I? It's an ego scenario, here."

He also offered a few hints about Walter: "I'm not sure what I'm allowed to say. Well, he's definitely a servant of the ship. We're coming to a period after Prometheus."
Since the most recent teaser showed the Covenant crew fending off homicidal attacks from xenomorphs, neomorphs and face-huggers, they're pretty much doomed.
Alien: Covenant lands in cinemas on May 12 - and it's apparently only a taste of many sequels to come. Watch the previous trailer below:
