Uncharted remakes have been on Sony's radar for quite some time.
Sony Worldwide Studio president Shuhei Yoshida previously said that the Uncharted series was a good candidate for PS4 remakes.
The original Uncharted made its PS3 debut in 2007. The sequel topped Digital Spy's Game of the Year list back in 2009, while Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception made it into the top ten in 2011.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is also in development for a 2016 launch.
Taking place three years after the events of Drake's Deception, the upcoming sequel sees Nathan Drake joined by his brother as he searches for a mythical pirate utopia in Madagascar.
The game is said to feature more varied combat, as well as the return of multiplayer.
