By Sony has assured that work on The Last Guardian has not been cancelled.
Speculation surrounding the future of the Team Ico project arose when its trademark was not extended.
However, Sony told GameSpot: "[We] can confirm that The Last Guardian is still in development."
The Last Guardian was first revealed in 2009, but has seen a prolonged development with no sign of release.
In December 2014, creator Fumito Ueda said that the game was making progress "under completely new conditions".
"I'm also working on some other things that I'll hopefully be able to show in time if progress is smooth," he added.
