Destiny has been given a release date by Bungie and Activision.
The first-person shooter will launch worldwide on September 9, 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
"We first shared the design pillars of Destiny less than one year ago," the developer said today via its website.
"Since then, Destiny has continued to reveal its promise. Every new build brings us closer to our original vision.
"With those goals in sight, we intend to use every moment from now until the release of the game to ensure that Destiny lives up to your expectations, and our own."
The Destiny beta begins in summer of next year and will first be available on PS3 and PS4.

Bungie currently has no plans for a PC version of the game.
