Deus Ex: Human Defiance appears to be the title of the movie based on the hit video game series.
Square Enix recently trademarked the title and sparked rumours of a new entry in the sci-fi series, but it has since emerged that CBS Films has registered a web domain of the same name, Superannuation reports.
Directed by Scott Derrickson, the Deus Ex movie is said to be based on 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Screenwriter C Robert Cargill recently assured fans that the film will not be a "rehash" of the game and said that it could pave the way for a successful era for the cyberpunk genre.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution shipped two million units within a fortnight of its release on Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3, with the majority of sales made in Europe.
The Deus Ex movie is scheduled for 2014.
