IDW Publishing has previewed Doctor Who Special 2013 #1, the final issue of its licensing agreement.

Writer Paul Cornell and artist Jimmy Broxton have collaborated on the comic, which sees the Doctor encounter actor Matt Smith.

Doctor Who 'The Time of the Doctor' will air on Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25) at 7.30pm on BBC One.

It will mark Smith's final episode in the starring role.

Doctor Who Special 2013 #1 will be released on December 24.
